Dear Ms. Feldmann:
Hello! My name is Pamela Rozema. I graduated in 1984 from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a BA in English Education with a minor in Theater. Actually my employment story might be a little different from the rest of the class. I had been teaching English and drama part time at Omaha Christian Academy. Then I took some medical leave the past couple years. Just last week, I began working as a Special Education Para at Papillion Junior High. I love it there!
This summer I began experimenting with blogging and a little bit of social media marketing as well as tinkering with writing articles on content sites such as hubpages. So when I saw this course in internet authoring for the classroom, I was so excited! In the past, I've used a lot of websites that create learning games for students and a lot of youtube videos for attention steps. We prefer PC's at our house, and I am currently running Microsoft Office 2007. Since currently I do not have my own classroom, I intend to use this class to create some great support material for the students I help at school and to collaborate with one or more of the teachers I assist to use technology to create new ways to assist SPED students in the classroom.
Actually, I am not pursuing Master's Degree. This class serves as credits to help me maintain my Nebraska Teaching Certificate. Though for personal reasons, I am not interested or able to work full time. I definitely want to keep the door open to return to the classroom in the future. Meanwhile, I am so pleased to be able to continue working with and helping kids in my new role as a Para at Papillion Junior High. I have chosen classes that are relevant to this new role and will help me in the future as a teacher when I return to the classroom, particularly the English classroom. I am very excited to expand my skills in creating all sorts of media on the internet for students. This picture is of me with my two daughters on Thanksgiving Day.
